OTWC Season 2!

Hi all! 

After a month break, Season 2 of the Olive Tree Writing Club is starting soon! 

Originally, in Season 1, we planned on creating a seasonal cohort-based system. However, this was a lot more work than we had anticipated which included supporting writers in the cohort, interviewing potential new members, and organizing events on top of the weekly sessions.

Instead, there are a few changes we’re making this season:

1. After hosting weekly events for nearly two years, we've decided to transition to hosting monthly events for the upcoming season. We’ve learned that hosting free writing events in NYC on a consistent basis isn’t easy. Moving to monthly sessions will allow us to focus on improving the quality of our writing sessions and organize other events as well.

2. Sessions will now be $20 each. All proceeds will be used to improve the sessions and community. Expect better sessions with snacks/drinks in a cozy writers’ cafe setup and a distraction-free environment.

Season 2 will kick off on Sunday, April 28th from 10am to 12:30pm. RSVP here.

Going forward, monthly events will occur on the last Sunday of each month.
